IceMelt: Modeling and Making Predictions with Environmental Data

An image of an app students can make to predict the future of winter ice on freshwater lakes.

In this module, students ask a question that can be investigated with data. They identify an online dataset that could serve as evidence to answer the question, then analyze data using tools, technologies, and/or models (e.g., computational, mathematical) in order to make valid and reliable scientific claims (NGSS MS/HS Practices 1, 3, 4).

As with all MIT App Inventor efforts, emphasis is on active constructionist learning where students code projects that instantiate their ideas.
